BACKGROUND
The Initiative:
- Directly advance health equity and address social determinants of health by improving access to technology and digital skills.
- Enhance digital access to empower residents to more effectively navigate healthcare systems.
- Engage in preventive health care education, and connect with vital social and community services.
- Integrating existing partner services with an intentional strategy to expand partnerships.
- Support regional collaboration such as BDO meetings, and maintaining a strong focus on digital equity
- The Community Resource Center will serve as a transformative asset that strengthens community capacity, promotes self-sufficiency, and fosters long-term well-being.
- The Center will be a dedicated computer lab equipped with modern computers and high-speed internet access.
- Lab will support residents who lack reliable home access to technology, enabling them to complete job applications, access telehealth services, participate in online learning, and develop critical digital literacy skills.
- Programming will prioritize digital equity through structured classes, hands-on training, and individualized support designed to meet varying levels of need across the community.
