Requesting authorization to extend agreement with Consumer Credit Counseling of South Texas-ESG Surplus Funds until Sept. 30, 2009. The agreement terminated June 30, 2009.

UCP is requesting authorization to amend the agreement between Consumer Credit Counseling of South Texas and the Hidalgo County ESG Surplus Funds Program until Sept. 30, 2009. HUD had requested that the Hidalgo County-Urban County expend surplus funds that had not been recaptured from prior years. The agreement had been presented and approved by Commissioners’ Court on March 17, 2009 with a deadline of June 30, 2009. The allotted time for expenditure of these funds was not sufficient; therefore, we are requesting an extension of the agreement from June 30, 2009 until Sept. 30, 2009.

The grant awarded to Consumer Credit Counseling of South Texas in the amount of $ 95,683.68 will not change.
