Consideration and Approval to declare the installation of an 8-inch water line from Bower Street across Hwy 107 in the City of Edcouch an emergency utilizing Urban County Program Year 18 (2005) Pct. 1 Water/Street Improvements recaptured funds from the City of Edcouch in the amount of $40,100.50.
BACKGROUND
Hidalgo County Precinct No. 1 on behalf of the City of Edcouch is requesting that the installation of an 8-inch water line from Bower Street across Hwy. 107 be declared an emergency. Surrounding schools would not have adequate water pressure in case a fire is to occur. Currently in place is a 6-inch water line and the upgrade to an 8-inch water line would provide the necessary water pressure. The upgrade would also make the City of Edcouch in compliance with the Fire Prevention Code as reported by Mr. Rene Rodriguez, Fire Marshall.
