Discussion, consideration, and approval to install a self-help legal terminal at the Hidalgo County Law Library by the Texas Legal Service Center at no cost to the county.
BACKGROUND
The legal terminal has been made available by a grant from the Legal Services Corporation Tech Initiative to ensure individuals without internet connection, particularly in rural areas, have access to legal resources.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The only expense the County will be responsible for is toner if necessary. However, the Texas Legal Services Center will provide four high yield toner cartridges(7000 pages per cartridge) that should last a minimum of 6 months each. (Note: The average cost of toner is between $150 to $300 and any repairs for terminal equipment will be handled through and/or coordinated by TLSC's IT staff.
