Requesting approval of payment for invoice #1175 in the amount of $600.00 to Towing Xpress for the towing of vehicle involved in a pursuit (non-county vehicle).
BACKGROUND
On Tuesday, December 9, 2010 Sheriff's Narcotic investigators were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a 2001 Ford Excursion that was being used to transport narcotics. The vehicle in question later crashed into a canal north of Donna, Texas. The Sheriff's Office wrecker was called out to retrieve the SUV from the canal but due to the terrain and location of the vehicle they were unable to retrieve it. Sheriff's Narcotic Sergeant obtained authorization to have "Towing Xpress" wrecker service extract the vehicle from the canal and have it towed to the Sheriff's Office.
