Requesting authorization to apply for the TDSHS PHEP FY 12 Reduction Restoration allocation in the amount of $172,667.00.  The purpose of this funding is to restore operating funds for the Public Health Emergency Prepardness program for FY 12.  TDSHS anticipates the additional funds to run from March 1, 2012 to July 31, 2012.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This additional grant award requires a match of 10%; Hidalgo County Health & Human Services Dept. intends to use Health Dept. staff, that are paid with general fund monies, to contribute work time to the PHEP project to meet the match amount of $17,267.00; The work time spent by Health Dept. staff (2 employees) will be converted into cash match. (hours * hourly rate with corresponding fringes).

Funds in the amount of $17,267.00 will need to be appropriated as transfers in when accepting grant.
