Urban County Program for Precinct No. 1 is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into a construction contract with Saenz Utility Contractors, Ltd., being the lowest bidder meeting all specifications and/or requirements, for the Texas Department of Rural Affairs Contract No. 729055, in the amount of $84,360.00. The project involves sanitary sewer extension improvements for Colonia Saenz, De Anda & Perez Subdivision.

Bids were requested and received for Pct. No. 1 – TDRA Contract 729055. Guzman & Muñoz Engineering and Surveying prepared the specification packages. Bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County – Purchasing Dept. on June 27, 2012. After review, the project engineer recommended Saenz Utility Contractors, Ltd. as the lowest of two (2) bidders. Please see attached engineers recommendation letter and a copy of bid tabulations. Hidalgo County Urban County Program is requesting an additional commitment of funds from the City of Mercedes for the completion of the project in the amount of $16,862.00
