Requesting approval to cancel the award bid for the demolition and reconstruction of an existing structure in the City of Weslaco in the amount of $53,740.00 to G & G Contractors.

BACKGROUND

The County of Hidalgo Urban County Program (UCP) obtained Commissioner’s Court bid and contract approval on October 9, 2012 (agenda item #34446). Due to program requirements, the UCP performed an income recertification. During the recertification process, the UCP became aware that the clients financial status had changed. Upon completing the recertification, our office determined that the applicant was ineligible to receive assistance. The annual household income for a family of 3 is now $36,699, $1,149 more than the maximum annual medium income. As such, the UCP is requesting cancellation of bid and contract approval.
