Requesting authorization and approval to accept the Memorandum of Understanding with the Sheriff's Department to provide prenatal care for inmates by the Health & Human Services Department.
BACKGROUND
As per memo of understanding, the Sheriff's office agrees to reimburse the Health Dept for the basic prenatal healthcare services provided to inmates who do not qualify as an eligible resident under the Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act (Tx Health & Safety Code Chapt. 61). The memo of undestanding's duration is for a period of one year.
