Discussion, consideration and approval of the Government Code Statewide Electronic Filing System Fund Fee of $2 per electronic filing, in accordance with Subchapter C, Chapter 72, Texas Government Code , Section 72.031 and HB 2302.
BACKGROUND
HB 2302 allows for a temporary fee on electronic filings charged by the district clerk to recover the actual system operating costs reasonably incurred by the local government or appellate court. The new legislation provides for a fee of $2 per electronic filing transaction to be imposed on all electronic filings except traditionally filings. Section 72.031 of the Government Code is to be effective September 17, 2013 and set to expire September 1, 2019
