1. Requesting authority to eliminate item 5 (sludge dewatering facility) and item 6 (site gate) listed under Exhibit “B” (itemized bid form) for the City of La Villa Waste Water Improvements project.

2. Urban County Program on behalf of the City of La Villa is requesting consideration and action to award and enter into a construction contract with Saenz Brothers Construction, LLC for the Waste Water Improvements project in the amount of $583,000.00. UCP will utilize the City of La Villa water/sewer improvement funds from FYs’ 24, 25 & 26 (2011, 2012 & 2013). 

A. The legal notice provides the County with the right to separate and accept, or eliminate any item(s) listed under this bid that it deems necessary to accommodate budgetary and/or operation requirements.

B. Dannenbaum Engineering Company - McAllen, LLC. prepared the specification packages and bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County – Purchasing Department on March 25, 2015 for the City of La Villa Waste Water Improvements project. After review the project engineer recommended Saenz Brothers Construction, LLC as the lowest of two (2) qualified bidders. (See attached agreement letter of omissions, recommendation letter from project engineer, copy of bid tabulation sheet and certificate of insurance.)
