Requesting approval for a six (6) month extension to the FY 2008 and FY 2012 Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Agreement between the Urban County Program and Proyecto Azteca

BACKGROUND

Proyecto Azteca is contractually obligated to produce five (5) units that will be sold to qualified homebuyers. Currently, three (3) units have been successfully completed and two (2) other units are under construction. Unfortunately, there is a drainage issue on one of the properties that has not allowed for the placement of the newly constructed home. Proyecto Azteca has been in contact with Hidalgo County Drainage District No 1 Director, Mr. Raul Sesin, who advised against placing a housing unit on the particular property. The CHDO is assisting the family in locating another lot and has also hired a real estate agent for assistance. The CHDO has requested an extension to complete the sale of the units under this contract. The UCP is recommending an additional six (6) month extension for the completion and final loan closing for these pending units.
