Title VI/Nondiscrimination:
1. Discussion, consideration, and approval to adopt the Hidalgo County Title VI/Nondiscrimination Policy Statement.
2. Discussion, consideration and approval to adopt the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Standard Title VI Assurances to establish full and affirmative compliance with the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other nondiscrimination authorities.

Any entity that indirectly receives Federal assistance from TxDOT, or any entity or individual to whom Federal assistance is extended, either directly or indirectly through another recipient is subject to Title VI reviews conducted by TxDOT's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. Hidalgo County, in accordance with 23 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), as a recipient of Federal financial assistance, is subject to these Title VI reviews conducted by TxDOt's OCR and is required to comply with the various nondiscrimination laws and regulations.

In accordance with TxDOT's OCR, after adoption, this Policy Statement is to be circulated internally, externally and to the general public, as required.
