The Urban County Program is requesting the award of bid and approval of contracts for the reconstruction including demolition of one (1) unit in the Countywide area in the total amount of $38,880.00 to J.D. Villarreal Construction.

BACKGROUND

This family was approved to receive assistance under the HOME-Homeowner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program by the County Commissioners' Court July 24, 2007.  Bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County Purchasing Department on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 for the demolition and reconstruction of one (1) unit in the Countywide area.  A review and tabulation of bids revealed that Miguel De Leon Construction was the lowest bidder, but at the time of bid opening Mr. De Leon was not registered with the Texas Residential Construction Commission - due to untimely renewal. Therefore, we are requesting that the bid be awarded to the next lowest bidder which was J.D. Villarreal Construction in the total amount of $38,880.00.
