Approval of a Resolution authorizing the County of Hidalgo Urban County Program to submit its FY 2017-2018 Annual Action Plan (Year 30) to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and authorize the County Judge to sign any and all documents related to funding.

The UCP is requesting authorization to submit the Annual Action Plan for the FY 2017-2018 Program Year to HUD. Every year the Urban County Program is required by HUD rules and regulations to submit its annual action plan prior to May 15th. However, this year the Consolidated Appropriations 2017 bill was not signed into law until May 5, 2017. The timing of enactment of the FY 2017 Appropriations Act left insufficient time for grantees to complete the citizen participation process. Therefore, HUD issued a waiver of the regulatory 30-day citizen participation public comment period in favor of a minimum 14-day comment period in order for grantees to meet the statutory August 16, 2017 submission deadline.

The Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 consists of an overall budget of $ 9,530,456.00
