BACKGROUND
This grant funds 100% of the salaries, fringes and expenses for 3 prosecutor positions, 1 investigator position and 1 administrative assistant position. One of the prosecutors is titled as the Regional Counsel; a second prosecutor is title the Texas Anti-Gang (TAG)Counsel for BPU. The Regional and TAG Counsel have the responsibility of assisting law enforcement and local prosecutor's offices for the following counties and throughout Texas:

4. Willacy
5. Jim Hogg
6. Brooks
7. Kenedy
8. Duval
9. Jim Wells
10. Kleberg
The prosecutor and investigator assists local Hidalgo County law enforcement agencies with criminal cases.
The Administrative Assistant supports the prosecutors and investigator.
