Discussion, consideration and approval of changing the fee for noncertififed copies of records (hardcopy and electronic format) from the current $1.00 per page to $.15 per page, pursuant to Gov't. Code, Sec. 51.318(b)(8).

The fee for issuing a noncertified copy of a record is not to exceed $1.00 per page or part of a page, as per Gov't Code Sec. 51.318(b)(8). The district clerk office proposes the decrease in large part due to the accessibility of electronic copies of court records online, which are available to the public at no cost. Currently, it is mostly constituents requiring a certified copy of a court record who visit the office in person to pay for their certified copies. The office would continue to assess a $1.00 fee per certification.
