CAPTION
Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code, 263.151(1), Hidalgo County Precinct 3 is requesting approval to declare as "Salvage Property" [unusable] and sell as "Scrap Metal" including removing the items listed in Exhibit A from Hidalgo County Precinct 3 inventory list.
BACKGROUND
1. The containers are fully depreciated;
2. The pictures do confirm the attempts to repair and stabilize tge container to maximize the life of same;
3. Hidalgo County currently does not have a term contract for the purchase of scrap metal. No requests for packets were ever received. The market conditions causing this inability to secure a contract [circa. 2012] still exist;
4. Thus our current protocol is to solicit at least three (3) quotes and award to the highest bidder offering a per ton price;
45 HC Precinct 3 will assist in dismantling and transporting to vendor awarded.
