Requesting authority to advertise for "FIRE STATION EQUIPMENT" in the City of Alamo an Urban County Program Year 19 (2006) Fire Station/Equipment Project with plans & specifications developed and drafted through project architect Alcoser, Garcia Associates Design Consulting.

BACKGROUND

The Urban County Program on behalf of the City of Alamo is requesting authorization to advertise for a Fire Station Equipment project, for the construction of a new Fire Station Building.  On July 23, 2003 the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development granted an exception for the reimbursement of pre-award costs for three (3) projects in the City of Alamo.  The construction of a new fire station was one of the projects to be constructed through Certificates of Obligation, with repayment coming from CDBG over a ten-year period.  Due to higher construction costs the city will contribute additional funds from their general funds as well as from their CDBG allocation.
