Sheriff - FY 2022 Body Worn Camera Grant Program (1284):
1. Authorization and approval to apply for the FY 2022 (3-1-2022 to 2-28-2023) Body-Worn Camera Grant Program (Round 4) with the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office-Criminal Justice Division (OOG-CJD) through e-grants.
2. Authorization for County Judge to e-sign application and all related documents under e-grants as authorized official.
 3. Approval of Resolution for the FY 2022 Body-Worn Camera Grant Program to designate Judge Richard Cortez as grantee's authorized official and to sign resolution.

BACKGROUND

Grant will be administered by the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division. All projects must begin March 1, 2022, and expire on or before February 28, 2023. Application due November 30, 2021. Match Requirement: 25% of the total project cost. Estimated cost of the project: $220,000.00. Sheriff's Office CCP 59 Forfeiture funds will be used to cover cash match requirement (fund 1227).

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Cost to the County (Match Requirement) is 25% of total project cost.
Estimated total cost of project: $220,000.00; Cash match requirement (25%): $55,000.00
New account numbers will be created by the Co. Auditor's Office once grant is awarded by grantor, accepted by CC, budget is established, and revenues are certified by the Co. Auditor.
