BACKGROUND

The proposed project will be a 20,000-square-foot facility constructed to the requirements of the FEMA Safe Room Standards. The intent is to design a multipurpose structure that will serve as a training facility for first responders and an Emergency Operations Center during critical events. The program includes flexible conference/meeting rooms, an auditorium, open/flexible training areas, a commercial-grade kitchen, food & supply storage, dormitories, and restrooms equipped with showers as well. The building construction will be secure from hurricane-force winds and will provide a safe location for first responders and critical/essential employees to seek shelter.
