BACKGROUND
1. On 9/6/22; letter of commitment approved by CC for $46,500.00 - Safe Street & Roads Grant
2. There is a grant program known as the Areas of Persistent Poverty Grant Program and its purpose is to fund planning studies that focuses on areas of persistent poverty and evaluate ways to enhance the transportation system. The deadline is March 10th. The RGVMPO is applying for a $500,000 planning study which will assess the potential for transit improvements in areas of persistent poverty within our Metropolitan Area Boundary, analyze the financial structure of existing transit agencies, and showcase the prospective benefits of a regional transit agency for the Rio Grande Valley area.
