Consider Resolution authorizing Hidalgo County Urban County Program (UCP) to submit a grant application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Office of Colonia Initiatives (OCI) – 2024 Self-Help Center (SHC) Program, and authorizing the Hidalgo County Judge to execute all grant related documents.
BACKGROUND
Hidalgo County UCP will be submitting an application for the funding of the SHC Program. This application will fund housing activities in five colonia areas in Hidalgo County. The allowable activities include new construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, home repair counseling, technology access, and other related activities. The grant request is approximately $900,000.
