NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD MEETING of the County of Hidalgo Community Service Agency will be held at the Community Service Agency, located at 2524 North Closner in Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:

  1. Roll call and establish quorum
 
  1. Presentation and possible approval of Board Minutes for meeting of December 20, 2018.
 
  1. Report, discussion, and update regarding management decision letter for Single Audit Report for Fiscal Year end December 31, 2017 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.  Dated January 10, 2019, follow up required.
 
  1. Discussion, consideration, and possible action to accept donation of 31 space heaters and 57 blankets from Entravision Communications.  Heaters and blankets will be distributed by Hidalgo County Community Service Agency as per program guidelines.
 
  1. Discussion, consideration, and possible action regarding updates to Fiscal Policies.
 
  1. Discussion regarding expiring terms for public officials and authorized representatives:
  1. City of San Juan/San Juanita Sanchez Term Date 01/2016-01/2019
  2. City of Mercedes/Armando Dominguez Term Date 01/2016-01/2019
  1. Discussion, consideration, and possible action for board members to recommend public officials to fill 3 vacancies for public official members on Community Action Advisory Board (CAAB) pursuant to Article II Section 2.A of the CAAB By-Laws.
 
  1. Discussion, consideration, and possible action to entertain a vote related to recommendations made by CAAB to fill vacancies for Public Official Members on CAAB for:
  1. Public Official Vacant Position #1
  2. Public Official Vacant Position #2
  3. Public Official Vacant Position #3
  1. Discussion regarding new Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) program rules for System Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE).
 
  1. Discussion regarding updates to the 2019 program application.

  2. Present client survey results for CSA for December 2018.

  3. Senior Corps update for Foster Grandparent Program and Senior Companion Program. 
  4. Gala to honor students that have transitioned out of poverty
  5. 2019 Adult Daycare Meeting January 23, 2019 at the PCT. 4 San Carlos Endowment Center at 107 Sunflower Edinburg TX.
  6. Shah Client System Software Training to be held February 1st, 2019 in San Antonio
  7. Agency to assist Federal Employees affected by the partial government shutdown.
  8. AARP Customer Advocate participation
