NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a SPECIAL MEETING of the Commissioners' Court will be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Requesting authorization and approval to appoint Dr. Ivan Melendez, Medical Director, as the Hidalgo County Local Health Authority for the period of December 6, 2007 to December 5, 2009.  This action and documentation is required by Texas Department of State Health Services.

Award of ORCA 2006 Colonia EDAP Grant #727145 of bid and approval of contract with Garza Plumbing Inc. of Edinburg, Texas (the lowest and only responsible bidder meeting all specifications and requirements) in the amount of $50,744.00 for first time sewer improvements to four (4) colonias in the City of Mercedes ETJ area in Pct. # 1.

1.  Approval to award the sole bid submitted by Casco Industries, Inc.  for selected items in the amount of $18,509.00 for the Elsa Fire Department utilizing Urban County Pct. 1 Fire Station Equipment from Year 20 (2007).

1. Approval to delete one (1) temporary full time Nutritionist position, slot no. 350-001-T217 at $38,000.00.
2. Approval to create one (1) permanent full time Nutritionist position, slot no. 350-001-0218 and set salary at $38,000.00 per year.
