NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a SPECIAL MEETING of the Commissioners' Court will be held at the Edinburg Council Chambers 415 W. University Drive, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:

Roll Call

All members of the Court were counted present for the exception of Commissioner Joe Flores.

Pledge of Allegiance

Judge Garcia led the Court and Audience in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Prayer

Virginia Townsend led the Court and Audience in Prayer.

Approval of Consent Agenda

The Court moved to approve the Consent Agenda for the exception of Items 8.A to be pulled for discussion.

Open Forum

Fern McClaugherty welcomed the new Commissioner for Precinct 2, Eddie Cantu, and expressed her concern over a rise in taxes.

Virginia Townsend requested the Commissioners' Court meetings return to once a week and reminded the Court of the date the annex building was to be completed. She also was concerned over wrecked vehicles on the agenda and would like an explanation and was also concerned over the of a PR position on the agenda.

Opal Billman expressed her dismay over the continuous false imprisonment she has been held under. She requested explanations and clarifications for the courts actions.

Joseph Palacios wanted to explain the position on the agenda for a PR person and stated that it is merely a reclassification of job title due to the needs of the precinct. He stated there will not be an increase in pay.

Resolution in honor of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Place 2 Rosa Trevino for 38 years of service, 23 of those years as Justice of the Peace, in Hidalgo County prior to retiring from the bench in 2014

Judge Rosa Trevino was recognized and honored for her outstanding service, dedication and commitment to the citizens of Hidalgo County. She served six consecutive terms before retiring from the bench. Judge Treviño credits her success to the hard work, passion and the unconditional support of her late husband Eloy Treviño.
