NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a SPECIAL MEETING of the Commissioners' Court will be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Cano, 1st floor, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:

Resolution in honor of Sgt. J.P. Rodriguez on being named Crime Stoppers Deputy of the Year
Sheriff Eddie Guerra thanked Commissioners Court for acknowledging the hard work of one of his deputies. He also recognized the Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers Board for recognizing the deputy.
Alma Castro President of the Crime Stoppers Board presented the deputy with a commemorate for all his hard work.
District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez acknowledged the integrity and commitment of Sgt. Rodriguez, and expressed his appreciation to the court for recognizing the deputy.
The distinguish honor is base on four criteria, Service Above and Beyond the Call of Duty, Distinguished Community Service, Act of Bravery and other Distinguished Service. Sgt. Rodriguez meets all these accomplishments and therefore, he has become the first honoree from the Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers Organization for the year 2015.
Sergeant Juan P. Rodriguez graciously accepted the honorable recognition given by Commissioners Court, the Sheriff’s Department and the Crime Stoppers Board Members.The sergeant proudly introduced his mother Amelia Rodriguez, his daughter Natalie Rodriguez, his son Sean M. Rodriguez and niece Desiree Trejo. Sergeant Rodriguez spoke about his participation in the capturing of a well known Texas Syndicate gang member and recognized the work done by other deputies.
On motion by BOARD MEMBER PCT. 1, A.C. CUELLAR, JR., seconded by BOARD MEMBER PCT. 3, JOE M. FLORES, the Board made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval.
Vote: 5 - 0 – Unanimously
