Rosie Martinez Victim's Unit Director, explained that these new applications will help enhance the victim's unit. Martinez informed that they are trying to develop a court advocate program in order to have a court advocate per district. On the other hand, the other application is to help enhance the domestic unit, which will allow an investigator and persecutor that can help with protective orders and also work with local agencies for safety planning and shelter in hopes to save lives.

Discussion and recognition acknowledging Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Public Health Preparedness and Response team for the successful completion, submission and receipt of the Recognition Status from the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) for Project Public Health Ready.  

Mr. Olivarez informed that this is a national recognition, an accreditation of national level. Meaning that the health department and the preparedness team are ready to deal with any level of public health crisis. The project took a year to complete and only five other entities in Texas have it. 

Olivarez recognized Evangelina Rubio, Steven Hinojosa, David Leal, Linda Wasserman, Sandra Garza and  Crystal Cabrera.

Salazar informed that this is to substitute for the accord form. 

Michael Leo disclosed that Mr. Comiskey recommended to wait. Leo asked the court to take no action.

McClaugherty voiced questions in the matter of nepotism in the county.
