Commissioner Cantu joined the meeting and Commissioner Flores stepped away.

Valde Guerra reported on a roof water leak at the courthouse building on the 92nd court. According to Guerra, the maintenance crew informed they have staff on board to take care of the leak. The repairs will cost between $35,000 to $50,000

Discussion on Election updates

Hilda Salinas disclosed that as of yesterday, they've had 19,281 democrats in-person votes and 2,000 republican in-person votes during early voting. Salinas noted that the 2016 presidential election had a total of 27,733 but in 2014 they had 21,657 votes.

Commissioner Flores joined the meeting.

Lizbeth Gonzalez on behalf of Precinct 4, Commissioner Joseph Palacios presented a resolution recognizing the Hidalgo County MPO, LRGVDC and Texas A&M Health Services for their acceptance to the the Fourth Annual Walkability Action Institute. The organization is one of nine forming part in this event. They will acquire policy, systems and environmental support for walking and walkability.

Open Forum

1)
Fern McClaugherty commented that there should be county buildings that could be restored and utilized in order to prevent leasing.

2) Joe Rodriguez noted on a previous concern regarding the disposal of legal documents. Additionally, he also informed that he met with Precinct 4, Jose "Pepe" Caso in regards to road issues but nothing has been done. Rodriguez claimed that employees are using personal phones to checking-in citizens at the collections facility.
