- Fern McClaugherty claimed she has received calls from concern citizens as to how the court makes decisions that impact lives. She further pointed out to the court that they should take care of the people affected by the floods before constructing the new courthouse. Further, McClaugherty noted to Commissioner Fuentes that precinct 1 offices do not answer calls, and said to precinct 4 Commissioner Palacios that his office does not return calls either. McClaugherty also claimed that Mayor David Suarez is hard to get a hold of.
- Paula Villanueva recalled that back in 2013, when the county proposed to privatize waste in Hidalgo County, Commissioner A.C. Cuellar voiced his concerns and supported the small business community. Reminding Commissioner Palacios that back in 2013, he too supported small businesses. Additionally, she disclosed that some people do not have the $20.00 to pay and will look at other alternatives to dispose of their trash. Villanueva recognized that Commissioner Fuentes along with Mayor Suarez seem to be looking for alternatives that would help small companies going.
- Gustavo Treviño also voiced concerns over the solid waste program that would affect their solid waste company and asked for a change to stay in business.
- Virginia Townsend claimed that local people would not be able to compete on such waste program bid and said it wasn't fair to local people.
