NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a SPECIAL MEETING of the Commissioners Court will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Cano, 1st floor, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:

Open Forum
- Azeneth Lugo from LUPE organization and resident of El Dora Subdivision nformed Chairman Fuentes that a petition was signed requesting public lighting. According to Lugo, the subdivision already has the proper infrastructure for light service.
- Ema Alaniz voiced concerns over essential services such as drainage and public lighting. Additionally, she asked the board to consider the smaller solid waste companies in providing trash service to the county.
- Virginia Townsend acknowledged that people from LUPE also share the same concerns regarding the solid waste program.
- Fern McClaugherty noted she'll be signing for open forum during drainage district due to the delay in regular commissioners court meeting. Further, she claimed that the solid waste program will make matters worse for drainage and the entire county. According to McClaugherty, issues will rise because people are not going to be able to pay for trash service. Moreover claiming this action is going monopolize a specific company.
- Paula Villanueva owner of All Valley Waste, said the company has been in business for over 15 years and asked the court to keep transfer stations open. Additionally, she claimed that some households live in a month to month income and some families won't be able afford the new fee and will opt towards illegal dumping.
- Joe Rodriguez argued that the solid waste program the county is trying to implement will affect drainage. He also questioned the usage of the landfill located in the Macook area. Moreover, Rodriguez continued to claim that there is no transparency in precinct 4.
- Teresa Azuara petitioned the board not to privatize trash pickup in the county as this will affect those who can't afford it.
- Cary Zayas spoke on behalf of City of Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina, voicing concerns over the potential selection to have one single waste collection company. She claimed that this will affect the collection of brush, trash and tire collection. Zayas claimed that this plan will take away the residents ability to make a chose based on their needs.
