BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this 26th day of November A.D., 2019, there was begun and held a REGULAR MEETING of the Honorable Commissioners’ Court of Hidalgo County, Texas, wherein the following members thereof were present, to-wit:

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a REGULAR MEETING of the Commissioners Court will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Cano, 1st floor, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:

CONSENT AGENDA

 

The following items are of a routine or administrative nature. The Drainage District #1 Board has been furnished with background and support on each item, and/or it has been discussed at a previous meeting. All items will be acted upon by one vote without being discussed separately unless requested by a Board Member, in which event the item or items will immediately be withdrawn for individual consideration in its normal sequence after the items not requiring separate discussion have been acted upon. The remaining items will be adopted by one vote.

On motion by COMMISSIONER PCT. 3, JOE M. FLORES, seconded by COMMISSIONER PCT. 1, DAVID FUENTES, the Court made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval of the Consent Agenda with the exception of Item 4.A to be pulled for discussion.

Approval to exercise the District's option to renew/extend the contract for "Financial Advisory Services" with Estrada Hinojosa & Company, Inc., for the Second of 2 additional one (1) year extension options, under the same, rates, terms, and conditions as stated in the agreement number C-HCDD1-15-011-12-08, effective from December 8, 2019 through December 7, 2020. Judge Cortez stated that he would like to see the contracts consistent with one another. He also stated that the charges were different and some retainers were eliminated.

Raul Sesin then recommended that the extension be granted subject to negotiation. 

The Legal Advisor did clarify subject to allow the administration to negotiate terms consistent with the county approving the extension on these terms.

On motion by COMMISSIONER PCT. 3, JOE M. FLORES, seconded by COMMISSIONER PCT. 1, DAVID FUENTES, the Court made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval on Item 4.A. subject to negotiation of terms.

Vote: 4 - 0 – Unanimously

Court proceeded to Item 5.A. on the Regular Drainage District Agenda.
