First participant, Ms Fern McClaugherty expressed her concern in relation to the county's lockdown, and according to Ms. McClaugherty the excess hiring of county employees, and the increase of property value appraisals performed by the appraisal district. As a public participant, Ms. Fern McClaugherty also questioned item 11.E. on the regular Commissioners' Court Agenda.
Honorable Mayors Jim Darling of the City of McAllen, Dr. Armando O'Cana of City of Mission, Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez of the City of Pharr, Richard Molina of the City of Edinburg, and Oscar Longoria, a constituent of Hidalgo County, came before the court in reference to the distribution of the $151 million dollars of CARE Funds given to the county for COVID-19 relief. The mayors and Mr. Longoria requested for the board to distribute the funds accordingly, and to work in collaboration with the cities for the betterment of all the constituents of Hidalgo County affected by the COVID-19 virus.
