BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this 26th day of May A.D., 2020, there was begun and held a SPECIAL MEETING of the Honorable Commissioners’ Court of Hidalgo County, Texas, wherein the following members thereof were present, to-wit:

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a SPECIAL MEETING of the Commissioners Court will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Cano, 1st floor, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:

General Operations:

Discussion and update as it relates to the Texas Water Development Board Flood Infrastructure Fund Abridged Application. (Audio Reference 02m:59s)
Raul Sesin updated the board that the administration will proceed with one application for $30 million in grant funds, with anticipation of receiving $9 million or more for Hidalgo County Drainage District projects. He further stated that the goal was to finalize the application this week of May 25th - 29th of 2020. If Hidalgo County is chosen as a recipient, the funds will be available in the beginning of 2021 once all documentation is submitted.
No action was taken on item 4.A.

Requesting approval to accept a check from TML in amount of $17,065.02 for Claim No. PR-84157 as it relates to the June 2018 rain event. (Audio Reference 06m:12s)
Raul Sesin informed the court that these were funds that were being reimbursed for equipment and material that were expended during the June 2018 rain event. Sesin also stated that the administration is working with TML towards recuperating more possible funds.
On motion by COMMISSIONER PCT. 1, DAVID FUENTES, seconded by COMMISSIONER PCT. 3, JOE M. FLORES, the Court made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval on item 4.B.
Vote: 5 - 0 - Unanimously

Requesting approval to assign 24 hour possession of District vehicles to District Maintenance & Operations Director, Assistant Directors and Supervisors during the 2020 Hurricane Season. (Audio Reference 07m:17s)
Raul Sesin stated that the supervisors/directors have been taking their county vehicles home in order to perform site evaluations with the recent rain fall, and to be prepared in case of a flooding event during the hurricane season.
On motion by COMMISSIONER PCT. 1, DAVID FUENTES, seconded by COMMISSIONER PCT. 3, JOE M. FLORES, the Court made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval on item 4.C.
