NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551.045 (b)(1) (media has been contacted), Texas Government Code, that an EMERGENCY MEETING of the Commissioners Court will be held due to the COVID-19 public health emergency which continues to pose an imminent threat to the public health, safety and well-being of the citizens of Hidalgo County, will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Cano, 1st floor, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:
In accordance with section 418.016 of the Texas Government Code, Governor Abbott has suspended various provisions that require government officials and members of the public to be physically present at a specified meeting location. As a result, all or some government officials may participate via videoconference. Additionally, members of the public are encouraged to watch the meetings online, at: hidalgocounty.us

2. Approval of CARES Act inter-local agreement with sub-recipient municipalities
Commissioner Torres made a motion to approve the CARES Act Inter-local Agreement with sub-recipient municipalities with the incorporated changes,seconded by COMMISSIONER PCT. 3, JOE M. FLORES, the Court made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval on item 5.A.
Vote: 4 - 0 – Unanimously
Judge Cortez stated for clarification purposes, that the municipalities had questions, and a supplement will be added to the agreement, which will be answers to frequently asked questions.
The court proceeded to item 7.A.
b. Measures necessary to preserve public health and safety (Audio Reference 06m:13s)

c. Direction regarding County government operations, including but not limited to essential functions (Audio Reference 06m:26s)
Valde Guerra stated that Hidalgo County is taking the necessary measures to continue protecting the safety of the county's constituents, as well as Hidalgo County employees.
