NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a SPECIAL MEETING of the Commissioners Court will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Cano, 1st floor, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:
In accordance with section 418.016 of the Texas Government Code, Governor Abbott has suspended various provisions that require government officials and members of the public to be physically present at a specified meeting location. Open Forum Participant, JP Rodriguez representing Texas Municipal Police Association, came before the Court to express his gratitude and personally thank the Court for the Compensation Plan for Law Enforcement and First Responders. Rodriguez presented the Court with a piece of Art work on behalf of the Texas Municipal Police Association to show appreciation for the Court and their work with First Responders.
Open Forum Participant, Fern McClaugherty, came before the court to express her concerns on how the county is being operated under the courts' administration during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as agenda items 6.A., 19.B., 19.G.2., & 19.G.1.
Commissioner Torres returned to the meeting.
Open Forum Participant, Gary Groves came before the Court to express his concerns on the COVID-19 pandemic and possible medications for treatment.
