NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, that a SPECIAL MEETING of the Commissioners Court will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Administration Building, 100 E. Cano, 1st floor, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas. Discussion and possible action relating to the following business will be transacted:

CONSENT AGENDA

 

The following items are of a routine or administrative nature. The Commissioners Court has been furnished with background and support on each item, and/or it has been discussed at a previous meeting. All items will be acted upon by one vote without being discussed separately unless requested by a Court Commissioner, in which event the item or items will immediately be withdrawn for individual consideration in its normal sequence after the items not requiring separate discussion have been acted upon. The remaining items will be adopted by one vote. (Audio Reference 17m:30s)

County Executive Officer, Valde Guerra, requested that Consent Agenda items 4.A, 10.A.1 and 10.A.2. be pulled for further discussion.

The Court proceeded with a vote of approval for the remaining Consent Agenda items.

On motion by COMMISSIONER PCT. 2, EDUARDO “EDDIE” CANTU, seconded by COMMISSIONER PCT. 3, EVERARDO “EVER” VILLARREAL, the Court made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval for the Consent Agenda, except for Consent Agenda items 4.A, 10.A.1 and 10.A.2.

Vote: 5 - 0 -Unanimously

Valde Guerra stated that there was a typographical error on the amount stated on Consent Agenda item 4.A; In which the amount should have stated $18,395.19, and not $19,202.01.

On motion by COMMISSIONER PCT. 2, EDUARDO “EDDIE” CANTU, seconded by COMMISSIONER PCT. 4, ELLIE TORRES, the Court made a UNANIMOUS vote of approval on Consent Agenda item 4.A, with corrected amount.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office Victim’s Unit will be participating in the Edinburg Rocking Around the Christmas Tree parade on Friday, December 3, 2021. The holidays are not safe and joyful for everyone, for victims the stress of the holidays increases the risk for victimization. It is even more imperative to bring awareness for domestic violence and show victims that they are not alone; in bringing awareness we always hope to reduce domestic violence in our county.
