Sale of State of Arizona c/o Board of Supervisors' Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 207-18-003K to Gila County
Background Information
APN 207-18-003K was deeded to the State of Arizona by the County Treasurer in 2026 because the previous owner did not pay the property taxes for seven consecutive years.
Joseph Dickison, Public Works Department Director, reviewed all properties deeded by the Treasurer in 2026 and determined that Gila County could use this property for a public purpose related to transportation. This parcel will be used for a potential future roadway improvement project along Pima Street.
The parcel is legally described on the Treasurer's Deed as: Block:03 Lot: P18,P19,P20 Section: 26 Township: 01N Range: 15E. That portion of lots 18, 19 & 20 Blk 3 Arlington Heights Twnst Sec26 T1N R15E being south of south r/w of county rd. Thereof;=01.0 acre mil (out of 207-18-003D).

Evaluation
A.R.S. § 42-18303 (E) states, "The board of supervisors may accept an offer from, and sell real property held by this state by tax deed to, the county or a city, town or special taxing district in the county for a public purchase related to transportation or flood control. The board of supervisors shall convey the deed and apportion the monies received in the transaction prescribed by this action."
It is the intent of Gila County to purchase this parcel for a public purpose related to transportation.
Soon, the Clerk of the Board will schedule a public auction of 2026 properties that were deeded by the Treasurer to the State of Arizona c/o Board of Supervisors. The County meets the criteria described in A.R.S. § 42-18303 (E) to purchase this property before the online auction is held.

Conclusion
This property needs to be purchased by Gila County because it will be used for a potential future roadway improvement project along Pima Street.
Recommendation
The total lien amount on this property is $771.70. Per Resolution No. 25-12-01, the Board of Supervisors may waive the requirement to sell the property for no less than the total lien amount if a condition warrants selling a parcel at a lesser price. It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors sells the subject property to Gila County for $771.70 so that it can be used for a potential future roadway improvement project along Pima Street.
Suggested Motion
