Summary
One of the FY22-24 Strategic Plan goals, as established by Council, was to develop a Smart City Master Plan to leverage technology and data analytics solutions by the end of FY22. This Work Session is to discuss possible smart city categories and seek Council’s feedback as we develop the framework for the Smart City Master Plan.(Justin Fair, Chief Information Officer)

BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
The Greater Phoenix Economic Council presented on "Smart City" components, initiatives and strategies with potential benefit to Goodyear residents and businesses at a 2018 Council Work Session. In 2019, the city joined The Connective and became an active member on their Leadership Council. Deputy City Manager Dan Cotterman was selected as an Officer to represent West Valley Cities on the Connective Leadership Council in 2020. In 2021, the FY22-24 Strategic Plan was adopted, which included direction to develop a Smart City Master Plan.
STAFF ANALYSIS
Staff has created a proposed; smart city definition, goal statement, and seven smart city categories for Council discussion to ensure it meets Council’s vision for the Smart City Master Plan.
