This agreement with Trivium Preparatory Academy will allow for joint use of facilities between Trivium Preparatory Academy and the Goodyear Recreation Campus.

Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute Joint Use Agreement between Trivium Preparatory Academy and the City of Goodyear for Joint Use Facilities between Trivium Preparatory Academy and the Goodyear Recreation Campus (GRC). (Deanna Ortiz, Recreation Superintendent)

This agreement provides for no cost rental use between Trivium Preparatory Academy and GRC, therefore, there is no fiscal impact to the City for facility use. However, costs for staffing, and/or unique facility requirements (i.e. sound technician, field prep, custodial services) may occur, these costs would be minimal and absorbed within program and event budgets established.

Trivium Preparatory Academy and City have been collaborating with each other while serving the community. This Joint Use Agreement further supports these efforts by allowing both entities access to each other’s facilities.

There are opportunities to leverage both campuses for community benefit. Trivium Preparatory Academy will have access to the City’s recreation center, aquatic centers, parking lots, ramadas, courts and fields, once all City’s needs are satisfied. The City will have access to Trivium Preparatory Academy classrooms, gymnasium and parking lots once all Trivium Preparatory Academy needs are satisfied. Each entity has first right of refusal for use of the others facilities. By working in close partnership with one another, the City and Trivium Preparatory Academy benefit strategically when scheduling amenities for sports, special events, community programs and school functions.

It is recommended that the City Manager or designee execute the Joint Use Agreement between Trivium Preparatory Academy and the City of Goodyear for Joint Use of Facilities.
