RECOMMENDATION
ADOPT ORDINANCE NO. 2024-1609 AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS IN ARTICLE 9-8 (DEVELOPMENT FEES) OF THE GOODYEAR CITY CODE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CORRECTIONS AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (Jared Askelson, Finance Director)
FISCAL IMPACT
Development impact fees allocate the appropriate cost of new infrastructure to growth related development. This action does not change the fees, but allows the City Code to refer to development impact fees adopted by City Council with Resolution 2024-2378 on January 8, 2024.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
On January 8, 2024, the City Council approved Resolution 2024-2378 adopting an updated Development Impact Fee Study. The process to adopt the study was in accordance with Arizona Revised Statute 8-463.05. The study included Land Use Assumptions (LUA), an Infrastructure Improvements Plan (IIP), fee schedules, and methodologies for calculation of development impact fees.
STAFF ANALYSIS
This action updates the City Code to reference actions previously taken by City Council with the approval of Resolution 2024-2378 which adopted a new Development Impact Fee Study. The previous actions were in accordance with the process outlined in Arizona Revised Statute 9-463.05.
