SUMMARY:
Council will receive a presentation regarding the Goodyear Police Department's Command Staff Operational Overview and Out Year Planning for the Department.
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive Council feedback on the current operational state and future planning for the Police Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Costs associated with Police Department operations are funded in the Police Department General Fund budget.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS:
At the November 13, 2020, Council retreat Chief Rodriguez was requested to provide his vision for the department and an operational overview. This presentation is a follow up to Council's request.
STAFF ANALYSIS
Chief Rodriguez, Deputy Chief Farrow and Deputy Chief Mercy used experience and departmental practices to determine the vision for the Department. Further staff analysis will be conducted once Council guidance and approval has been obtained.
