RECOMMENDATION
Recommend approval to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) for a Class B bingo license, submitted by John Fournier, Administrator for the Avondale Moose Lodge, for bingo games to be held at 1572 S. Cotton Ln, Goodyear, AZ, 85338. (Corinne Ferguson, Deputy City Clerk)
FISCAL IMPACT
The applicant paid a $25 fee to the City of Goodyear per the ADOR Bingo License Packet.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
John Fournier, Administrator for the Avondale Moose Lodge, has applied for a new Class B bingo license to be located at 1572 S. Cotton Ln., Goodyear, AZ 85338. The Lodge plans to host bingo games Monday and Saturday of each week starting at 6:00 PM.
The City Clerk's office received the completed application on May 9, 2023. The application has been routed to the Police Department and the Development Services Department (Planning & Zoning, Code Compliance and Building Safety), any comments are listed below.
Per A.R.S. §5-404, this application must be approved by the local governing body prior to being submitted to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR), which is the licensing authority for bingo licenses.

STAFF ANALYSIS
Class B bingo licenses are dedicated to raising funds for the establishment's sponsoring of charitable organizations. Bingo is offered to the members of the Lodge Monday and Saturday of each week starting at 6:00 PM. Members will pay $2 per game and the winner will win 50% of the money collected for the game. The bingo license will be valid for a year from the date issued and allows the holder to conduct bingo for which gross receipts do not exceed $500,000 per year.
