RECOMMENDATION
ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2024-2399, ESTABLISHING THE AD-HOC CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR A TERMINATION OF THE COMMITTEE; ESTABLISHING BY-LAWS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND/OR HER DESIGNEE TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with the establishment of the Committee and appointment of members.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
The City Charter was last reviewed in 2020 and approved by the voters in 2021. While language in the City Charter mandates a review every 10 years, several items have been identified for review and once this review has been completed, the next mandatory review will be in another 10 years.
