| SUBJECT: | AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF A POWER DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES EASEMENT, AN IRRIGATION EASEMENT AND AN INGRESS AND EGRESS EASEMENT TO SALT RIVER PROJECT AGRICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT AND POWER DISTRICT FOR THE SURFACE RAW WATER PUMP STATION LOCATED NORTHEAST OF BROADWAY AND AVONDALE ROADS. |

SUMMARY:
Issuance of a Power Distribution Facilities Easement, an Irrigation Easement and an Ingress and Egress Easement to Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District required for the operation of the surface raw water pump station located northeast of Broadway and Avondale Roads.
Recommendation:
FISCAL IMPACT:
There will be no fiscal impact to the City in fiscal year 2021 or future years related to the issuance of the easement.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS:
The City owns approximately 3 acres of land located northeast of Broadway and Avondale Roads (approximately one-quarter mile north of Broadway Road). This property was acquired in April 2019 by the City in connection with a capital improvement project for the raw water pump station associated with the Surface Water Project.
STAFF ANALYSIS
The raw water pump station is currently under construction and requires the placement of electrical facilities and construction of water conveyance facilities (irrigation) by Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District. These easements are required in order to provide permanent power to the site and to add equipment to the irrigation channel that will operate the gates that supply the water and equipment to measure the water being pumped into the facility. In order to place, operate and maintain the facilities needed, SRP requires the City to provide the easements attached hereto.
