SUMMARY
Approval of the 2027 Council Meeting Calendar establishes the meeting schedule for the upcoming year. The calendar serves as a planning tool to ensure timely decision-making, support meeting transparency and communication, and promote coordination among Council, city staff and the community.

RECOMMENDATION

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact from this item. The approval of the 2027 Council Meeting Calendar (Attachment A) is an administrative action that does not incur any additional costs.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
In accordance with the City Council Meetings Rules of Procedure adopted by Council through Resolution No. 2025-2441, a Council Meeting calendar is presented and approved by the Council no later than November 1 of each year for the upcoming calendar year.
STAFF ANALYSIS
The Council Meeting Calendar (Attachment A) outlines all anticipated Council meeting dates for the upcoming calendar year. Dates for Regular Meetings, Work Sessions and Special Meetings may be added and/or canceled throughout the year to accommodate the business of the city.
Meeting agendas are posted on the City’s website and outside of City Hall in compliance with Arizona's Open Meeting Law, at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Generally, Council will hold its regular meetings each month in the Council Chambers at Goodyear City Hall, located at 1900 N. Civic Square.
