Summary
Council will receive an update on the regional activities undertaken by the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) as well as hear an update from the Goodyear Police Department Homeless Outreach Team (HOT). (Santiago Rodriguez, Chief of Police; Lisa Maxie-Mullins, Assistant City Attorney)

BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
The Goodyear Police Department Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) was established in September 2018 to proactively address issues surrounding homelessness. The team acts as a liaison between patrol, those experiencing homelessness, and resource organizations. HOT provides assistance and resources as needed but will enforce statutes and ordinances as necessary.
STAFF ANALYSIS
MAG will provide an update on regional efforts to respond to homelessness. MAG has conducted surveys, forums, data analysis, and research to develop proposed strategies and is working with stakeholders to draft a regional homelessness action plan, expected to be completed by the end of the year.
