OTHER PRESENTER(S):

SUMMARY

The Subcommittee will present its proposed goals and timeline for developing outreach materials and handouts to increase public awareness of Goodyear’s Arts and Culture programs, resources, and initiatives.

RECOMMENDATION

Discuss and establish a Public Art Passport to showcase The City of Goodyear’s unique public art and cultural destinations. (Dawn Stipe, Recreation Superintendent)

BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTION

The Arts & Culture Commission Subcommittee has previously discussed opportunities to increase public awareness and engagement with Goodyear’s public art and cultural assets. During these discussions, commissioners expressed interest in developing printed materials and other outreach resources to complement the information currently available on the city’s website.

Building on previous discussions, the public art passport would showcase Goodyear’s public art collection and cultural destinations, providing residents and visitors with opportunities to explore and engage with the City’s arts and culture offerings.

STAFF ANALYSIS

This interactive resource would encourage residents and visitors to discover local sculptures and other cultural attractions while celebrating Goodyear’s creative identity. The Subcommittee will discuss the initiatives, goals, outreach opportunities and proposed timeline to bring the vision to life. Staff will evaluate design, printing, and production costs within the existing budget.

No additional funding is anticipated at this time.
