Summary
Staff is seeking direction from City Council on the 2023 Council Meeting Calendar and guidance on meeting effectiveness. (Darcie McCracken, City Clerk; Julie Karins, City Manager)
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
City Council passed Ordinance 21-1519 on November 8, 2021 which requires that an annual meeting calendar be adopted by Council.
STAFF ANALYSIS
With the opening of Goodyear Civic Square, Council now has a dedicated meeting space and increased flexibility. Staff will review options for a 2023 calendar to include Monday or Tuesday evenings and an earlier summer break. The Council meeting schedule is completely in the purview of City Council as the Charter change removed any requirements previously in place.
