Proposition 400 Extension Presentation (Audra Koester Thomas, Transportation Planning Manager, Maricopa Association of Governments)
Audra Koester Thomas, Transportation Planning Manager, Maricopa Association of Governments, discussed regional transportation and the importance of Prop 400 and Prop 400 Extension. She outlined the history of transpiration in the region, the economic significance of transportation investments, and the development of a new Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) for the region. The goals of the RTP include safety, mobility, prosperity, responsiveness, livability and preservation and will address transportation needs in the region in freeway/highway, arterial roadway and transit. She also explained that there is a focus on expanded transportation options and the need for flexible strategic investments.
Commissioners asked questions and provided feedback on the importance of environmental sustainability, expansion of light rail service to the West Valley, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Avondale-Goodyear Transit Study (Christine McMurdy, Project Management Coordinator)
Christine McMurdy, Project Management Coordinator, asked commissioners, "where do you want to go" and then explained how transit could help them get there. She noted that the future of transit in the West Valley was not likely going to be high impact models like light rail, but rather the city was exploring the expansion of local circulators and micro transit.
